Baron leaves because Kobe isn't helping the kids?

"It's tough, but you have to do what's best," said Davis, his usually bushy beard trimmed short. "You have to do what's fair. I'm happy with where I'm going. A big reason is because of the impact and the things that I can do going forward. I knew I could have done them here and created all kinds of good things and positive things in the community, and ultimately, me going home helps me make an impact on young kids."

Thank God That's Over

Kevin Garnett finally got his Championship Ring that he thought he was going to get with the Timberwolves. I have to commend him in his post-game shoutouts though. Once you are past the beginning gibberish, KG gave a loving message to his first NBA city: Minnesota. No wonder they call this guy the emotional leader of the Celtics.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for earning their 17th title.

Let's move on shall we. The NBA Draft is taking place on Thursday and to the fans of the teams who didn't even make the playoffs, this is OUR time. Many are predicting that Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, and O.J. Mayo are the top 3 picks but how are the other prospects looking?

Later I will put up my top 5 draft prospects. In the meantime, who are your top 5 shooting guards in the NBA draft?

Cham-POWE-ionship

Bay Area's Finest Award
Leon Powe

No words can describe how proud I am of Leon Powe.
CAL product Leon Powe gave a show that each Bay Area resident and even Stanford grads should be proud of. By taking more free throws than the whole LAKER squad combined and making 9-13 attempts. Powe was the second-leading scorer of the Boston Celtics with 21 points and 2 rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time.

For the rest of his Boston peers, it was Pierce who carried the team like the star he was never given. Quickly overshun as an MVP candidate and more recently a target of Phil Jackson's mindgames with his heroics in game 1, Pierce led his squad with 28 points and 8 assists. But the difference, as usual, was Kobe Bryant not being a catalyst for the rest of his team. Though he led all-scorers with 30 points and 8 assists, he still wasn't his killer-self. As of late, his game has been inconsistent since the opening of the series, but this time the Los Angeles Lakers have a "reason": the referees. As much as I enjoy the Los Angeles Lakers being at odds with the referees and having them suffer the Laker biased-"are you kidding me?!" or "are you blind?"- calls , it's the Finals: no room for errors.

Speaking of questionable calls, here is a excerpt by J.A. Adande's article on espn.com that offers his perspective on the matter:

But you'll notice a certain theme developing when you hear Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic say, "You can't do anything, because if you do anything they're going to go to the line. You have to adjust to the calls." And Luke Walton saying, "It was a foul every single time down. We never were able to get into that flow, at that pace that we like to play at."

And even Bryant managed to sneak in a complaint.

"We've got to get timely rebounds and we have to stop them in transition knocking down those 3s and we'll be fine," he said. "A free throw or two wouldn't hurt."

Tune in next time for the results of the match-ups, my predictions for game 3 and maybe even more.

Champi-YAWN-ship

Okay, okay, who am I to join every bitter Warrior fan and put down the "epic" battle between KG and Ko-be? Who cares. Boston Celtics better take it home. With Game Two tomorrow, I'm praying it will be another "Memorial Day Massacre." What should tomorrow be remembered if (when) the Celtics defeat the Lakers? Suggestions please.

Match-Up
Ray "Crazy Eyes" Allen vs Kobe "Never foul with elbows" Bryant
You know Ko-be hasn't slept well with his meager performance with Game One. It was so storybook that I bet the Lakers are pissed that they weren't the stars. Ray Allen needs to be consistent from here on. So think of this match-up as Allen's defense versus Bryant's offense.

Cry-baby Battle
Sasha Vu-ja-BITCH vs Glen "Big Baby" Davis
Let the bitchin' begin!

For those of who are actually beside themselves with excitement; enjoy this segment from the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. As the guest correspondent, Chris Bosh gives a first-hand look of what is exactly going down in the Boston Garden. Plus Glen Davis gives insight on one of his "favorite" shows on cable.

"Bahala Na"

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been on here for about 14 days, but I've busy. SO I lie; I was just really hurt by the Dubz going fishing early. But as my Lola (grandmother in tagalog) says, "Bahala Na," which means "whatever happens, happens." The 07-08 season was one the best seasons in Warrior franchise history, in terms of record AND excitement.

Even thought we SHOULD NOT have dropped our last two games against PHOENIX and SEATTLE, we just have to believe. . . in the front office. Yeah, I said we should trust the front office. With the NBA draft and the free agent market about to be bananas, what are some moves I wouldn't mind seeing?
1. Monta kept
2. Baron kept
3. Dubz MIRACULOUSLY WIN the lottery
4. Beans kept
5.Dubz choose Darrell Arthur

6. Patrick O'Bryant leaving

I know these demands are sort of obvious, but the playoffs are more obvious than they were last year too. Boston wins it all. So see you in Summer camp dubz!

"It will all get better in time"

*For the men (maybe women) out there, that little lyric is from Leona Lewis and her track "Better in Time." So get in touch with your sensitive side and listen to Leona: she's the truth.

Denver's Bench 114
Golden State Warriors 105
Bob Delaney 1,000,000 haters and counting

Warrior Nation stand strong.
I know of many fans who let go of all of their responsibilities to come home and cheer on the Golden State Warriors during the biggest game of the year. I am one of them and so did my family. The crowd in the Oracle had it's moments, but they were the reason why the Warriors kept trying till the end. On the other hand, the Denver Nuggets just had it and didn't have to try too hard.

After a spectacular 1st, a tough 2nd, and just an all around let down in the second half, the Warriors are TIRED. I mean , the Denver Nuggets bench racked up 37 points to the Dubz meager 7. I know what I'm saying is nothing new, but damn.

I think the biggest problem we saw is role-playing. For example, when the Dubz made one last run in 4th quarter , Kelenna Azubuike had made a much-needed 3 pointer but soon after he began to take some weird and unnecessary shots. The point of emphasis is ball movement, but with Stephen Jackson and Baron Davis not making any magic out on the perimeter, who's hands should the ball be in? Many would say Monta Ellis, which is a good guess, but Monta Ellis had a so-so night as well. He did an okay job at the point , but he is not a playmaker like BD. I mean, he can establish a solid pick and roll or make a nice drive then dish, but to direct traffic? Not yet.

I hate to bash the coaching staff because they have given the Warriors a season that in any other year would secure a solid playoff spot, but Don Nelson needs to change his approach just alittle bit. Nellieball can only take the Dubz so far without a solid defensive plan. Yeah, I'm sounding like a broken record , but should the Warriors get SMART? Keith Smart , previous to his stint with Warriors, had spent 3 seasons with the Cavaliers. In 40 games, under Smart, the Cavaliers were 9-31 in 2002-2003. More to come...

Even though the Dubz didn't, maybe someone from the Knicks will.

No (Mikki) Moore Drama

First of all, I think all we need to acknowledge the return of Air France. Who would have thought that Mickael Pietrus would only need to miss 9 games with a double injury (sarcasm) to get the Dubz back on track for their last minute playoff run. In all seriousness, I think Pietrus, being the "fan favorite" and all should be rewarded for bringin back life into the Oracle. After these last couple of games, there has been some drama with fan participation, but it's just NERVOUSNESS people. So chill out.

With the Kings without Brad Miller and having Ron Artest being the cheerleader, the Warriors, surprisingly, did not play to the same level as their opponent. In the first quarter alone the Dubz began the game with 2 scrappy plays that gave them the early lead. You can say that Stephen Jackson still isn't back in rhythm , but I think he has made adjustments to his game. We saw less quick threes and more driving the rim. It did help that the Kings had no major challenges inside, that is, if you count Spencer Hawes, who had himself a reasonable game.

From Oakland to Sactown

In about 4 hours , the whole Northern California will be tuned in into one of the biggest showdowns this year. The Golden State Warriors are tied for the 8th spot in the Western Conference with the Denver Nuggets having the advantage. The Sacramento Kings , without their top men Brad Miller and Ron "tru warrior" Artest , still were able to put a royal smackdown on the Denver Nuggets. Ever since the Golden State Warriors made it back into the playoffs, the rivalry between the Bay Area and Sacramento has surpassed anyone can imagine. With the Golden State Warriors becoming America's favorite underdogs, Kings' fans were only left the Maloof family making appearances on Oprah's Big Give program. Tonight the fans will come out and support their squad but only one team can take the title as, "California Love."

Not so easy in the Big Easy, yet Seattle makes it rain.

What a Sunday is all I have to say. Let's begin with the "bad." If I had to choose what Dubz I would truly want to have during this stretch, it would be the December Dubz. Not only is December your girl's birthday, but it held 2 of the first of many exciting games for the Dubz: Miami & LA. In both of these games, the Dubz started bad, and ended good. This knack for getting behind yet making that exciting run when it counts would continue until , I would say mid-March. So what kind of Warriors do we have now? Golden State are starting games on point, but as a result of them tiring themselves out so quickly, they usually don't end well.

Will some company send our boys some Vitamin Water? This starting good and ending bad motif occurred last night versus the No-One Hornets. As in no-one, I mean, no one believes in them! However, everyone and their mom (like mine) believe in the Dubz. Chris Paul and David West deserve the most credit for carrying this team to the top. With pieces who have playoff experience such as Bonzi "Hova" Wells and Peja Stojakovic, New Orleans has great potential to surprise many critics. Now to our Golden State Warriors... oh, where to begin. Monta Ellis and Andris Biedrins are playing for big payday during the off-season and that sure showed last night. Baron Davis is playing for an extension and there was some bounce in his step for some $$$. I could go on and talk about this lost and how much it meant for the Dubz, but I won't. I will just say, Mickael Pietrus, please come home.

A win that I will talk about is the Seattle Double OT victory over the Denver Nuggets. Well PJ Carlesimo must have some love the Golden State Warriors organization to miraculously lead his Supersonics to a win over the Denver Nuggets. Allen Iverson and Carmelo Anthony did all they could , but in the end Kevin Durant, a prime candidate for Rookie of the Year had some magic dust on his hands. The game was truly AMAZING with both teams playing their hearts out.
Here is a small video:

No check-in at the Heartbreak Hotel...

How crazy is Don Nelson? What goes on in his head? Last night, Nelli put Marco Belinellli not for hacking purposes or early garbage time, but to actually PLAY. Marco told Matt Steinmetz after the game that Nelson wanted him to guard Juan Carlos Navarro. Not only did Belinelli do that but he was the 5th leading scorer for the Dubz. Yes, it is still the Memphis Grizzlies , but Belinelli or Bust?

Moving balls=Moving up With Stephen Jackson and many of the other Warriors coming off their worst performances of the season, the rock needed to be more "consistent" hands. Well not so much as "consistent" because these are the Golden State Warriors we're talking about, but players, such as Kelenna Azubuike and Monta Ellis, whom have been producing more lately.

How exactly did the Warriors' win? I have no idea. I don't want to say "defense", but I think that might be right. The turnover numbers between the two squads is equal, but the rebound ratio is alarming. The Dubz had 55 rebounds against the Grizzlies' 39 ; thanks to Andris Biedrins and Kelenna Azubuike. Another thing was that the Warriors' did not have any hurdles inside. Jason Collins played like a litte girl trying to obtain charges from players like Monta Ellis and Darko Milicic is no Pau Gasol. Finally, Mike Miller wasn't his old self, thank God.
Infatuation Frustration:
Matt Barnes and Al Harrington
Another reason why Matt Steinmetz believes Nelli put Marco Belinelli in the game pre-maturely is that he wanted to send a message to Matt Barnes and Al Harrington. The last game that Al Harrington had a solid performance, according to Jim Barnett, was the blow-out lost against the Utah Jazz. As much as I want to blame Webber for taking his time, I won't ; but, what happened to the Al that dunked on that Lebron-guy in the beginning of the season? What happened to that passion? Now Matt Barnes almost received a suspension for his flagrant-1 on Kyle Lowry, but luckily, it was downgraded to a regular personal foul. Either way, the two arguably best-looking players better step their game up or they're going to lead the Dubz to an ugly ending of a wonderful season.

Home sweet home: Oracle Arena

As I was searching for the status of Mickael Pietrus, I stumbled on this inspirational article on the Contra Costa Times website. The article is written by Marcus Thompson II and his piece is entitled , "Divine Oracle: Warriors' arena place to be."

Here is a small excerpt:

One can only imagine what would happen should the Warriors win a title.

"The fans here are so loyal," Rowell said. "We've been ready for this for quite some time. The funny thing is we haven't done anything yet. I'm excited about the next few years. We've got some exciting young players to build on. A big part of it is the style of basketball we play. It's the personality and character of our team and the relationship they have with the fans."

This cast of Warriors is the dynamite that causes the Oracle to explode. Davis is the main attraction, the tone-setter. His game has a certain playground flair and his personality exudes through his visible emotions.

But Davis has plenty help in inciting the crowd. Monta Ellis is a fan favorite because of the way he zips and floats around the court, creating a collection of highlights. Fans go ballistic whenever Jackson pulls up in transition and splashes one of those methodical 3-pointers late in the game. And don't let swingman Mickael Pietrus be on his game.

In addition to the frenetic style of play, the Oracle experience is enhanced by the chic ambiance. Warriors games have become a popular Bay Area nightlife option, drawing socialites as well as hoop fans. Ticket demand and amenities -- an upscale pregame restaurant; spacious club lounges on the upper, lower and suite level; and a postgame bar where fans can mingle with the players -- lend an aura of exclusivity.

And that's before you throw in the celebrities.

Dating back to last year's playoffs, a steady of flow of famous entertainers has added to the Oracle setting. Actors -- such as Jessica Alba, Sean Penn and John Cho -- and musical entertainers -- such as Snoop Dogg and Carlos Santana -- highlight the list of paparazzi targets.

Sports stars long have been spotted at Warriors games. Ronnie Lott is a season ticket holder. Joe Montana and Jerry Rice have been known to show up. Cleveland Indians Cy Young Award winner C.C. Sabathia, a Vallejo native, has his favorite spot under the basket near the Warriors bench. A contingent of Raiders -- led by Nnamdi Asomugha, Sebastian Janikowski and JaMarcus Russell -- usually attends games.

But even with the TMZ vibe, the Oracle's reputation is that of a raucous arena.

"I was truly impressed by the amount of energy in the building," said R&B star John Legend, who performed at halftime late last month. "They remind me of a student crowd in a way -- so not jaded, so supportive of the team. I can only imagine what a playoff game there would be like."

Feb. 13, 2008. ESPN announcers Mike Breen and Jeff Van Gundy, calling the Warriors-Phoenix Suns game, raved about the Oracle.

"It's not just (that there are) a lot of people," Breen said on the air. "It has turned into one of the best atmospheres in all of sports."

Moments later, the Warriors ran off a 12-4 run in a span of three minutes, 15 seconds. First a 3-pointer by Jackson, followed by one from Kelenna Azubuike. Then Davis took over -- nailing a pull-up in the lane, hitting a fade-away jumper from the corner and turning a Phoenix turnover into a fast-break finger roll. Suddenly, the Oracle erupted into unchartered decibels. Hearing yourself think was not an option, and that's become typical.

"When it gets to those levels where it gets crazy in there," Warriors forward Al Harrington said, "it just gets your blood flowing. I get chills sometimes."

And you don't have to see it to feel it.

Does anybody BELIEVE anymore?

After two horrible 20 point defeats, it seems that the Golden State Warriors aren't believing anymore and so are the "fans." What happened to all those believers? Pessimism has always been a Warrior Fan delicacy , but never pushing the Dubz when they're already down is.

In tonight's game , Al Harrington only had 6 point as Stephen Jackson only had a meager 2. What is happening to this team? Sure, Dallas had reigning MVP Dirk Nowitzki return with 18 points and 5 rebounds, but they were still 0-10 before teams over .500 before the game.

This game was really no different than the Sunday match-up, with Josh Howard and Jason Kidd dominating. The only other exception was the Jason Terry had 31 points who had been in a small shooting slump versus the Warriors' last Sunday. If only Jax and Al were alive, then this Dallas team would not have been such a problem. Whenever Stephen Jackson would not get a call, he would try to create something out of nothing in the next possession which would almost always result in a Warriors turnover. If Al Harrington begins a game with 2 fouls in less time than it takes to say Tom Gugliotta then you know it's not good.

On the bench play, Kelenna Azubuike is our bench with 10 points and 3 blocks. Austin Croshere needs to stop taking Al Harrington's minutes. Croshere did nothing in the beginning of the second half when the MAVS started expanding their lead.

If only the Golden State Warriors were playing with a 'sense of urgency' as they had when they made the 16 - 5 run towards the end of last season. Each person on the squad say they are in the mode to make a run for these playoffs , but so far it's not looking too good. On the bright side, the Golden State Warriors are back in the role where they are most comfortable: the Underdogs. This season, teams know to give the Dubz their best when they play against us, but the Dubz know that they're still considered unworthy of being a true NBA contender. Hopefully, the Dubz will relish the UNDERDOG role and take everyone by surprise and once again, sneak into the playoffs.

There's HOPE

In her blog over on SFGATE.COM, Janny Hu received some comments from Stephen Jackson after Saturday's heartbreaking loss to the Denver Nuggets.

First, about the need for someone outside the Warriors' go-to trio to contribute:

"We got to get somebody that you don't expect to show up to show up some nights. Teams are really starting to play us on our guys. They want to take away my quick three-pointers ... they try to take Monta's left away.

"We need somebody on the bench to get us going, to help us these last couple of games, because that's what we had last year. We had Matt (Barnes) playing well, (Mickael Pietrus) playing well, and we needed that. And that's what we need now."
I would have never thought that it would succumb to Stephen Jackson have to call his team out, but times are changing. The Western Conference is tough and with last night's victory over the Dirk-less Dallas Mavericks, it was a "should win."

If there was any friction among the Warriors, they must have solved it before the game. One of the factors of this victory was that the Warriors were moving the ball. This helped our lackluster inside game and must've helped Andris Biedrins get back into his old self

The Dubz had 2 players play double digit minutes and they were Matt Barnes and Kelenna Azubuike compared to the Mavs' 3 players: Antoine Wright, Devean George, and Brandon Bass.

Last night , Kelenna Azubuike played 43 minutes with 15 points and 7 rebounds; a turnaround from his 6pt contribution to Saturday's loss. By now, I think Don Nelson has solved the issue of Al Harrington vs Kelenna Azubuike and who should be the 6th man. Obviously, Kelenna is better off the bench since Big Al doesn't play as well coming off the bench. Last night, Harrington had 14 points and had the second most rebounds for the Dubz with 9.

The Mavericks were without Jerry Stackhouse who joins Dub Mickael Pietrus with a groin injury, but the Warriors still came out meek in the opening minutes of the first quarter. Jason Kidd and company started with a 12-0 run but by the end of the 1st the Warriors' had a 1 point lead.

The rest of the game was all Warriors' with some close calls but in the end, the Dubz got away with the win. Now there is a 3-way tie between Dallas , Denver, and Golden State and only one will stay home while the others enjoy the post-season. In an instance of a tie , these are the deciding factors:
  • Best head to head record amongst teams tied.
  • Best conference record
Let's hope the Warriors' can pull through, but we know that they'll never give up. Tuesday's game will be another tough obstacle with Manu Ginobli being our biggest threat with his outside shooting. Don't forget that Al Harrington will have to try to manage Tim Duncan on the boards, but I believe Monta can hang with Mr. Longoria - Parker.

How M.B. Got His Groove Back

With the word of Brandon Roy being inactive for this game because of a groin injury (get well soon) and the Denver Nuggets defeating the Dallas Mavericks prior to tip-off, I could bet Warrior nation was in full nervous mode. TNT recognized that the Golden State Warriors have a huge tendency to play to level of their opponent and that is exactly what happened in the first quarter. LaMarcus Aldridge was getting anything he wanted handed to him. In the second quarter, the Dubz would let Portland extend their lead to 14 at one point, but the Holy Trinity along with Big Al would get us within four before getting us within a point at halftime.

The battle for the lead would continue with sharp shooter Steve Blake , but the Warriors were ready to come out a play. With contributions from each player on floor for the Dubz , they had 72-91 advantage over the Blazers preceding the 4th quarter.

With the lead in the 4th , the benchwarmers would make an appearance allowing much deserved rest to the Holy Trinity. Even though Jax and Ellis still played the whole game, it was alright because they played most of it without Baron who has been battling the flu.

The Portland Trailblazers played a great game but it just proved how valuable Brandon Roy is to their squad. I don't want to start any of that ALL-STAR talk because I don't any drama , but the match-up between these two teams will always be intense. I remember one of the TNT Commentators stating how great of team the Blazers will be when Greg Oden returns and how they're building for next season; we can only hope that the WARRIORS are doing that as well.

A Tale of One Biggie:

Andris Biedrins
It is no secret that AB is still in a full mental recovery state ever since his surgery, but how long will it last? With Pietrus' not being responsive to treatment, the Warriors' will need all the defense power they can get. Andris hasn't been finishing like he used to and is not playing as aggressive as he did, but WE BELIEVE he will come back at the right time.

Groupie Love (no golddiggers)
:
Matt Barnes
You know how the ESPYS have that award "Best Moment?" Well if I had to give that award tonight, I would give it to Matt Kelly Barnes. Even though Stephen Jackson was the highest scorer of the Golden State Warriors, but it was Matt Barnes finally getting out his emotional funk to get us the W. With 8 points and 8 rebounds that included two crucial threes that would begin our lead over the Blazers, M.B. was truly the hustle and flow of our offense and defense. I would give him the "Groupie Love" title , but I need to be greedy on this one.

Side note: I almost forgot but HAPPY 19th Birthday to mi prima, Daly City Girl. I love you , cousin; STAY THE SAME WONDERFUL PERSON YOU ARE!

"Don't Call it a Comeback!"

Don't call it a comeback because Chris Webber's return to the Golden State Warriors really wasn't that big of a move. For example, when Mariah Carey came back on the scene, she came back with a vengeance. Starting slowly with dance ballad "It's Like That," then stepping up with with the monster love song, "We Belong Together"; she really did come back.

Chris Webber , on the other hand, was fed with a silver (golden) spoon right when he stepped inside of the Oracle Arena. In his pre-party, on February 1, 2008 , the J-Rich Homecoming Game, Chris Webber received a video dedicated to his first years in the Golden State Warriors. The video would be played for the entire arena to "enjoy", but it would receive mixed reactions. The C-Webb dedication video was played side-by-side with Jason Richardson's video dedication, who undoubtedly deserved the honorary moment solo.

I'm not going to go on to re-hash what issues Chris Webber created for the Golden State Warriors' organization, but I'm not going to lie and say that I'm sad that the "Chris Webber Experiment" is over.

In his debut , the game vs. Chicago Bulls, Chris was given the start instead of Al Harrington. If you look at Harrington's stats, he loses some consistency off the bench. I'm not trying to reason Big Al's shortcomings, but Chris Webber surely didn't deserve to be a starter only after a few days of power practices.

His best effort was in the thrilling match-up of the Golden State Warriors vs the Boston Celtics. His defense against Kevin Garnett was exceptional and logged in the most minutes in his second run with the Golden State Warriors.

In the end, it's terrible that Chris Webber was never able to win a championship (even though he had Tyra Banks at her prime) , but we should thank him and wish C-Webb good luck.

I'm sorry, Chris Webber, your heart never was in San Francisco. You left it in Sacramento.

but who is the real "dirty" team?

The Golden State Warriors are the epitome of passion in the NBA. After a split in a back-to-back , they are still able to be classy and respectful. Despite that terrible last call, throughout the game, The Warriors' made getting that W harder on themselves with their unfinished And1 crowd-pleasing plays and those missed free-throws.

Honorable mention: Al Harrington- rebounds 12
Dishonorable mention: Andris getting Al's disease of accumulating fouls.

Finally, Baron Davis is getting his groove back with 30 points , despite playing the entire game. Even though he was quiet in OT, Stephen Jackson scored 29 points and played the entire game as well.

But please, let's give a standing ovation to KELENNA AZUBUIKE. Special K (goldenstateofmind.com) is the reason the Warriors' had a fighting chance in this game. With his layup in the OT that gave the Warriors a good start and his hustle throughout the whole game and overtime, Buike is the water that quenched our undying thirst for a win, but his water wasn't enogh. I hate to say it but when Mickael Pietrus comes back, my boy Matt Barnes may become just another benchwarmer.

(Disclaimer: In no way am I sacrilegious or trying to commit blasphemy, I am just a fan) But this win was another team win. Yeah, they nearly dropped it when they played like they were the no chemistry-Knicks, but no way in hell were the Warriors going to let their former selves lose them this game.

Now let's talk about the match-ups:
Jordan Farmar vs. Monta Ellis
Farmar, please, don't go to anymore L.A. hair salons; be a man and go to a barbershop. Second of all, even though you are improving, remember that you are playing last year and possibly this year's Most Improved Player.
Even though Farmar didn't reappear at all in the second half, "Baby Jesus" would struggle against the Fakers' Derek Fisher. So much that the lead the Dubz had created would disintegrate within 7 minutes in the 3rd quarter! By the 4th quarter, the Warriors were grasping to a 3pt lead, but leave it to the "Holy Ghost" to carry the Warriors' with the win in the "City of Angels."

Stephen Jackson vs. Kobe Bryant.
So , where do I even begin? After shooting that crazy ass 3 instead of driving, which I still haven't accepted as a daily occurrence, I thought "The Messiah" would have to save us. With Kobe Bryant finally lighting up in the second half and actually hearing the Staples Center crowd actually being a true audience (no disrespect), I thought the Dubz would lose composure. Then Jax and Kobe would give the people what they want with a shootout with back-to-back threes, but Jax having the last word. I'm surprised Kobe didn't fake an injury as he always does when the Fakers' aren't doing well (i.e. groin, finger). You know, Kobe's basic bitchassness

I mean, Buike went from this ...

to this! Check out his focus, his demeanor, and this time Kobe isn't moving.

It is to be expected that the match-up of Los Lakers and Golden State Warriors will be mos def crazy , but let's hope for another "momma, there goes that man!" performance.

Rude awakening by Air France

Happy Easter Everyone!

Thanks to Air France, I woke up cranky because of a Warriors' report on the Mercury News website. After finally getting his game right , it is reported that Mickael Pietrus status' for tonight's game against Kobe and friends lies as "questionable." After sustaining a groin injury after Friday night's loss vs the back-on-track Rockets , Air France may be replaced by Al Harrington or Matt Barnes in tonight's starting line-up (Geoff Lepper).

On the bright side, or lack there of, the Fakers will be without Pau Gasol, who with the Memphis Grizzlies, gave the small Warriors a hard time in the paint during their January 11th meeting. Also, Andrew Bynum , is still sidelined because of his injury on his left-knee that has him out for two months but is seeking a return before the playoffs.

Will the Golden State Warriors' be able to capitalize without Mickael Pietrus, Chris Webber, and Austin Croschere? The Lakers are on top of the Western Conference after going 2-2 on their recent roadtrip which contained a win that ended the Utah Jazz 19-game home streak. The Golden State Warriors need to come out with a sense of urgency and need to play at a consistent high-level , but I know that I'm preaching to the choir.

** Update: Dirk Nowitzki of the Dallas Maverick has been carried into the locker room after a rough play. Possibly out for the game vs the Warriors on Sunday?

"Let's Get Physical"

There's 6-foot-9, 250-pound Bryan Davis, a sophomore who is eager to guard UCLA freshman Kevin Love because, he said, "I just like to get physical."
L.A. Times

After a day of great coverage, especially Duke's early exit due to power-rebounding by West Virginia and the close game between Stanford and Marquette but they did save the best for last: UCLA vs Texas A&M.
Why? Well Kevin Love is a NCAA Tournament virgin so everyone wanted to see if he could handle it. In the first half, it was basic Bruin basketball. Despite an equal beginning between the Bruins and Aggies, UCLA began disintegrating while Texas A&M began making a run. Bruin basketball has a tendency to a dig hole for comebacks, much like another team I know. On the bright side, Darren Collison did not miss in the first half from 3-point range or the field, but Texas A&M we're still able to have a 6-point lead approaching halftime thanks to Donald Sloan, Bryan Davis and co. In the second half, Texas A&M would continue to dominate, but the UCLA defense would come into full effect at the right time. With Texas A&M's poor free-throw shooting, the Bruins would take over and Kevin Love would give the game it's first tie in the second half with 3:03 left in the game. Love would continue to give the Bruins their first lead with another fadeaway jumper, but Joseph Jones and Donald Sloan would continue to carry A&M. In the end, the first-half hero, Darren Collison, would come through with layup to give the Bruins a 2pt lead before Texas A&M used their last 30-second timeout. The end... there aren't words good enough for this ending:

Oh, and I would talk about Michael Beasley but I think the night should belong to Trevon Hughes.
