Pregame Rituals

As I enjoy the Dallas Mavericks get embarassed by the Cavs, I am more entertained by the all these antics from the Cleveland Cavaliers. Of course everyone knows about the team photoshoot right before tipoff with Lebron James as the photographer and their 3rd quarter baseball game with James hitting a homer, so Here are my top pregame rituals antics by teams, players and coachers:

The Denver Nuggets are #3 in the Western Conference?!

Unfortunately, I was unable to see the Warriors lose to the Denver Nuggets but when I watched the highlights, it seems that nobody did either. All I saw were dunks and moments of tea bagging done by even the bench warmers of the Nuggets with victims such as Anthony Randolph and Kelenna Azubuike. How did this happen? Last year, it was the Warriors in the same spot as the Suns are now and fighting for that number 8 seed. The Denver Nuggets were our hurdle like the Dallas Mavericks for the Suns but now Carmelo & Co. (more like Chauncey and Friends) are 7 spots above us?

I can see clearly now! The Denver Nuggets got an elite point instead of a guy who scores 50 points on occassion and their star player , though a punk like Monta, has played only 57 games but compared to Monta' 22 isn't too shabby.

Baron leaves because Kobe isn't helping the kids?

Kevin Garnett finally got his Championship Ring that he thought he was going to get with the Timberwolves. I have to commend him in his post-game shoutouts though. Once you are past the beginning gibberish, KG gave a loving message to his first NBA city: Minnesota. No wonder they call this guy the emotional leader of the Celtics.

Congratulations to the Boston Celtics for earning their 17th title.

Let's move on shall we. The NBA Draft is taking place on Thursday and to the fans of the teams who didn't even make the playoffs, this is OUR time. Many are predicting that Derrick Rose, Michael Beasley, and O.J. Mayo are the top 3 picks but how are the other prospects looking?

Leon Powe

No words can describe how proud I am of Leon Powe. CAL product Leon Powe gave a show that each Bay Area resident and even Stanford grads should be proud of. By taking more free throws than the whole LAKER squad combined and making 9-13 attempts. Powe was the second-leading scorer of the Boston Celtics with 21 points and 2 rebounds in 15 minutes of playing time.

For the rest of his Boston peers, it was Pierce who carried the team like the star he was never given. Quickly overshun as an MVP candidate and more recently a target of Phil Jackson's mindgames with his heroics in game 1, Pierce led his squad with 28 points and 8 assists. But the difference, as usual, was Kobe Bryant not being a catalyst for the rest of his team. Though he led all-scorers with 30 points and 8 assists, he still wasn't his killer-self. As of late, his game has been inconsistent since the opening of the series, but this time the Los Angeles Lakers have a "reason": the referees. As much as I enjoy the Los Angeles Lakers being at odds with the referees and having them suffer the Laker biased-"are you kidding me?!" or "are you blind?"- calls , it's the Finals: no room for errors.

Speaking of questionable calls, here is a excerpt by J.A. Adande's article on espn.com that offers his perspective on the matter:

But you'll notice a certain theme developing when you hear Lakers guard Sasha Vujacic say, "You can't do anything, because if you do anything they're going to go to the line. You have to adjust to the calls." And Luke Walton saying, "It was a foul every single time down. We never were able to get into that flow, at that pace that we like to play at."

And even Bryant managed to sneak in a complaint.

"We've got to get timely rebounds and we have to stop them in transition knocking down those 3s and we'll be fine," he said. "A free throw or two wouldn't hurt."

Okay, okay, who am I to join every bitter Warrior fan and put down the "epic" battle between KG and Ko-be? Who cares. Boston Celtics better take it home. With Game Two tomorrow, I'm praying it will be another "Memorial Day Massacre." What should tomorrow be remembered if (when) the Celtics defeat the Lakers? Suggestions please.

You know Ko-be hasn't slept well with his meager performance with Game One. It was so storybook that I bet the Lakers are pissed that they weren't the stars. Ray Allen needs to be consistent from here on. So think of this match-up as Allen's defense versus Bryant's offense.

Hi everyone! I know I haven't been on here for about 14 days, but I've busy. SO I lie; I was just really hurt by the Dubz going fishing early. But as my Lola (grandmother in tagalog) says, "Bahala Na," which means "whatever happens, happens." The 07-08 season was one the best seasons in Warrior franchise history, in terms of record AND excitement.

Even thought we SHOULD NOT have dropped our last two games against PHOENIX and SEATTLE, we just have to believe. . . in the front office. Yeah, I said we should trust the front office. With the NBA draft and the free agent market about to be bananas, what are some moves I wouldn't mind seeing?
